Madison, WI 53703 (608) 251-9964 Mickey's
How: Free, no cover, donations encouraged
BYO: Bible, garlic, crucifix, holy water

After a sound thrashing of the robots in his last solo show, Biff Blumfumgagnge once again rolls out his alien electric mandolin technology (plus a violin and a few other surprises) for this multi-media concert event, creating a live soundtrack to F. W. Murnau's 1922 classic vampire film, "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror."

This strange and eerie German silent impressionist work inspired all the Dracula movies to follow, and Max Schreck's chilling potrayal of Count Orlock - pointy bat ears, long sharp fingers, bald head and bizarre fangs - remains frightening even today. With the help of all the outside soundscapes he can muster, Biff will attempt to thwart this timeless evil and provide a memorable evening in sound and image.

From the Onion's Concert Picks of Biff's last solo show:
It take a resourceful and perverse musical mind to contribute in one lifetime to Madison's experimental goof-offs The Gomers, worldbeat ensemble Reptile Palace Orchestra, and equally puzzling acts like Headpump, all while bearing a name like Biff Blumfumgagnge. Here, the local musician gets a chance to unspool his brain in an even more volatile setting. With loops and an array of instruments - he plays violin, guitar, mandolin, bass and Theremin, to name a few - Biff will stir up a one-man maelstrom of sound, pitted against a multimedia show of robot imagery. Whatever happens, the sonic wizardry should match the spirit of juvenile mischief...

It's scary - techno - world - unique music moving to the biting images of Murnau's classic silent Vampyr film... Can you resist the hypnotic pull of such an interesting show?

This is the third in a series of Biff solo multimedia concert events. There will be no cover charge, but a hat will be passed for donations to the artist.
