From the Onion's Concert Picks:
It take a resourceful and perverse musical mind to contribute in one lifetime to Madison's experimental goof-offs The Gomers, worldbeat ensemble Reptile Palace Orchestra, and equally puzzling acts like Headpump, all while bearing a name like Biff Blumfumgagnge. Here, the local musician gets a chance to unspool his brain in an even more volatile setting. With loops and an array of instruments - he plays violin, guitar, mandolin, bass and Theremin, to name a few - Biff will stir up a one-man maelstrom of sound, pitted against a multimedia show of robot imagery. Whatever happens, the sonic wizardry should match the spirit of juvenile mischief, and it may leave some wishing Mother Fool's served something harder than coffee.

Celebrate! Ides of March Eve with mirthful MAMA and WAMI award-winning musical weirdo Biff Blumfumgagnge as he presents a solo evening entitled: Biff vs. Robots.

Witness! The insane spectacle as the inventor of the Gomers (and member of Reptile Palace Orchestra, Jambeau, Yammer, and Headpump) battles with digital, analog and air music technology right in front of you. As Biff spills out his goods upon the Motherfool's Stage like an exploding NASA space probe, he'll create sonic trickery, looping dervishes and electric violin / mandolin-scapes like you've never heard - all to robots you can watch.

Add! A synth controller or two and he's ready to wrestle with the musical automatons sprinkled about the stage like a bunch of mayhem-causing Borg vessels of sound, creating a live soundtrack to portions of Fritz Lang's 1927 silent film masterpiece, Metropolis. And that's just the first set.

It's ambient - techno - world - unique music moving to the images of robots smashing buildings, thwarting man and fighting giant dinosaurs...

This is the second in a series of Biff solo concert events at Motherfool's Coffeehouse.

No robots will actually be hurt during this presentation. At least, he'll try to be respectful of them. If he's losing, who knows what could happen.
